Dr. Hefford holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Prince Edward Island. Originally from Newfoundland, he competed in competitive hockey most of his life where he developed a keen interest in sports medicine. This interest in sports medicine led him to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where he graduated in 2010 with cum laude and clinic honours. During his tenure at the college, Dr. Hefford was the recipient of several awards including the Excellence in Biomechanics Award, the Newfoundland and Labrador Chiropractic Association Award, and the John M Wallace Memorial Award for clinical proficiency. He is currently completing a 2 year residency program in chiropractic sports sciences as well as a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. Dr. Hefford is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an Active Release Techniques, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, and Graston Techniques provider. He is a member of the Chiropractic College of Sport Sciences, the Canadian Chiropractic Association, and the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors.
Dr. Hefford enjoys being active during his time off as well as spending time with friends and family including his wife Amy and children, Cameron, Emily and Owen.
